Mar 4, Sat      Arrive Istanbul Airport

Our representative will meet you after you exit the customs and baggage claim areas, at New Istanbul Airport Meeting Point with a “FAM TRIP-TUTKU” sign (a picture of “New Istanbul Airport Meeting Point” can be seen on the following page). Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Istanbul. (D) (Istanbul-1 night)

Mar 5, Sun    Istanbul Tour - Fly Antalya

Full day Istanbul tour; visit the Roman Hippodrome Square, Blue Mosque with its beautiful blue tiles, Hagia Sophia Church, built by Constantine the Great and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, one of the world’s greatest architectural marvels and a designated World Heritage site. Then visit the Istanbul Archaeological Museum. Transfer to the airport for TK2420 18:30 /19:45 flight to Antalya. Dinner and overnight in Antalya. (B,D) (Antalya-2 nights)

Visit the Greco-Roman city of Perga (Acts 13:13-14;14:25). Stop at St. Paul Cultural Center & Church for some brief free time and lunch. Afternoon visit to the award-winning Antalya Archaeology Museum. Dinner and overnight in Antalya. (B,D)

Mar 7, Tue    Laodicea (Col 2:1; 4:13-16, Rev. 1:11; 3:14) - Hierapolis (Col 4:13) - Pamukkale 

Drive to Lycus River Valley. First, tour Laodicea to see the latest excavations. Then, drive to nearby Hierapolis to see the newly found Tomb of Philip. Also, see the UNESCO world-heritage site of Pamukkale. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale. (B,D) (Pamukkale-1 night)

Mar 8, Wed   Philadelphia (Rev. 1:11; 3:7) - Sardis (Rev.1:11; 3:1-4) - Smyrna (Rev 1:11; 2:8–11)

Drive to Alasehir to see the remains of the Philadelphia Church. Continue to Sardis, capital of ancient Lydia where the first coin of the world was minted. See the remains of the massive Artemis Temple. Proceed to Smyrna, modern Izmir to see the Smyrna Agora. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (B,D) (Izmir-3 nights)

Mar 9, Thu    Pergamon (Rev. 1:11; 2:12) - Thyatira (Rev 1:11; 2:18) - Izmir

Leave for Pergamon. Visit the Acropolis with the steepest theater of the ancient world and the Temple of Trajan. Then proceed to Akhisar to visit the remaining of Thyatira  church. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (B,D)

Visit the famous ancient city of Ephesus (Acts 18:19-24; 19:1-35;20:16-17; 21:29, 1 Cor. 15:32; 16:8, I Tim. 1:3 II Tim. 1:18; 4:12, Rev.1:11, 2:1), and its Terrace Houses, the Ephesus Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of St. John. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (B,D)

Asia Minor Research Center

Dr. Mark Wilson is the founder and director of the Asia Minor Research Center in Antalya, Turkey, a country in which he and his wife Dindy have lived since 2004. He received a D.Litt. et Phil. from the University of South Africa (Pretoria) where he serves as a Research Fellow in Biblical Archaeology. He is a Visiting Professor of Early Christianity at Regent University and also Professor Extraordinary Discipline Group Old & New Testament at Stellenbosch University. Mark regularly leads study trips for the Biblical Archaeology Society to Turkey, Cyprus, and Greece. He also blogs periodically for Bible History Daily. He is the author and editor of numerous books, articles, and reviews including Biblical Turkey: A Guide to the Jewish and Christian Sites of Asia Minor. His particular research interest is the ancient Jewish communities, Roman roads, and Biblical routes in Turkey. Mark has been married to Dindy for thirty-nine years; they have four adult children, four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Cenk Eronat

He was born in Ankara in 1966. After primary school he moved to Izmir with his family where he finished High School and University. He graduated from the Tourism and Management Department. After much experience with well-known tourism companies and five star hotels, he received his tour guide license from the government and began guiding tour groups in 1989.

Since 1999, he has been working with TUTKU Educational Travel as vice president and tour guide.

He prepares customized tour programs and he personally guides some TUTKU groups. He also enjoys taking the pictures for TUTKU brochures & websites.
