Paul’s Competition Religious Diversity in Roman Asia Minor

May 19 - June 2, 2028

This tour will explore the diverse social and religious life of Asia Minor in the first century CE in order to shed light on the challenges that the apostle Paul faced as he traversed this region seeking converts for the fledgling Christ-movement. Participants will visit archaeological sites across central and western Turkey, focusing on but not limited to places where Paul and his co-workers established churches. Onsite lectures will be supplemented by material from two historical novels written by the tour leader that take place in this world, A Rooster for Asklepios and A Bull for Pluto.
