Nov 07 Thu Pergamum - Thyatira
There will be a visit to Pergamum Acropolis, the homeland of impressive Acropolis housing monumental structures like the Altar of Zeus and the Library of Pergamum, famed for its scrolls. Later on, a visit to Thyatira, which is a hub of trade and manufacturing and one of the seven churches of Revelation. Overnight will be at Izmir. (B, D)

Smyrna features a well-preserved Agora which served as a bustling marketplace and civic center in antiquity. Sardis, the ancient capital of Lydia, boasts ruins such as the Temple of Artemis and an ancient synagogue, reflecting its historical prominence. Philadelphia, another ancient city in Turkey, was noted for its strategic location and endurance through history, highlighted as one of the seven churches in Revelation. Overnight will be at Izmir. Nov 09 Sat Hierapolis - Laodicea
Hierapolis is located in ancient Phrygia (modern-day Turkey). It features Roman baths, temples, and a well-preserved theater, with a notable association with the apostle Philip. Laodicea, also in ancient Phrygia and it is criticized in the Book of Revelation for its lukewarm faith. Overnight will be at Izmir. (B, D)

Ephesus, an ancient city in Turkey, was a prominent Roman port known for its Terrace Houses. The Ephesus Museum in Selçuk houses artifacts excavated from the city, providing insights into its historical and cultural significance. Nearby, the Basilica of St. John stands as a Christian pilgrimage site, believed to contain the tomb of John the Apostle, highlighting Ephesus's importance in early Christianity.
