On March 21, 2026, the Culture and Faith Tourism Association successfully hosted the International Saint Polycarp Symposium in Izmir, bringing together distinguished scholars, clergy members, cultural representatives, and guests from various countries.
The symposium focused on the historical, spiritual, and cultural legacy of Saint Polycarp — the Bishop of Smyrna and one of the earliest Christian martyrs. Through insightful presentations and engaging discussions, participants explored his role as a bridge between the Apostolic Fathers and early Christianity, as well as his lasting impact on the religious heritage of Izmir and the wider Christian world.
The event featured valuable contributions from internationally recognized academics and researchers, fostering meaningful dialogue and strengthening international awareness of Izmir’s rich faith tourism potential.
Participants also had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and experience the unique spiritual atmosphere of the city.
The Culture and Faith Tourism Association extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers, partners, and attendees who contributed to the success of this memorable gathering. We look forward to organizing future events that continue to promote cultural understanding, heritage preservation, and faith tourism on a global scale.
